Advani optimistic about 8216;record-breaking8217; BJP win

In what could be the first cheerful assessment of the BJPs prospects since he came out of the sulk over Narendra Modis ascendancy,L K Advani Saturday sounded optimistic about a record-breaking BJP victory in next Lok Sabha elections given the UPA governments performance in the last three years.

The amount of effort that Congress has made in the last three years to make BJP win the next Lok Sabha elections,nobody else has, Advani said,addressing the partys Scheduled Caste Morcha at the party headquarters.

Looking at the confidence of SC Morcha workers,I am sure we will achieve record breaking results in the Lok Sabha elections, Advani said,urging party members to focus on election preparations without bothering whether they are held earlier than scheduled or on time.

While he did not mention Modi,Advani indicated that his optimism stems from the recent opinion polls which projects BJP to be emerging as the single largest party in elections,with the ruling Congress performing badly.
