A Starry Affair

2011 will see several films wherein actors,who are big names in their own right,will come together to entertain movie buffs.

Multi-starrers were a major feature in 2010. Sajid Khans Housefull saw the likes of Akshay Kumar,Riteish Deshmukh,Arjun Rampal,Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta share screen space and Prakash Jhas Raajneeti brought together Ajay Devgn,Ranbir Kapoor,Katrina Kaif,Arjun Rampal,Nana Patekar and Manoj Bajpayee.

2011 will see several films wherein actors,who are big names in their own right,will come together to entertain movie buffs. Dharmendra along with sons Sunny and Bobby will create magic in Samir Karniks Yamla Pagla Deewana. The trio,last seen together in Anil Sharmas family drama Apne in 2007,is attempting comedy together for the first time. The story is about the father-son duo Dharmendra and Bobby who play con-men and trick Sunny. The films promos have generated huge curiosity. Apne was a hit in India as well as the overseas. Will the Deols be second time lucky?

Vishal Bhardwajs 7 Khoon Maaf based on Ruskin Bonds short story Susannas Seven Husbands will see Priyanka Chopra romancing Naseeruddin Shah,Neil Nitin Mukesh,Irrfan and John Abraham. While the actors portray men with idiosyncrasies,Priyanka plays a femme fatale who ages from 25 to 60 in the film. After Aitraaz 2004 and Yakeen 2005,the actress will be seen in a negative role again. The movie is a mix of drama,suspense and black comedy. This is the first time the actress will be sharing screen space with Naseer,Irrfan,Neil and Annu Kapoor. Her on-screen chemistry with all of them will make for interesting viewing!

Zoya Akhtars Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara will star Hrithik Roshan,Farhan Akhtar,Abhay Deol,Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. The road movie shot at Spain,Egypt and Mumbai chronicles the journey of these five characters. Hrithik had earlier made a cameo in Zoyas debut film Luck By Chance. Audiences will see all these actors together for the first time.

Comedy king David Dhawan will bring Sanjay Dutt,Ajay Devgn,Arjun Rampal and Kangna Ranaut in his comic caper Rascals. The Sanjay Dutt home production is about two conmen trying to outdo each other. Sanjay and Ajay were earlier seen in comic roles in Rohit Shettys All The Best. This is the first time Kangna will act opposite Arjun Rampal. Will Dhawan,who gave the utterly forgettable Do Knot Disturb in 2009,regain his comic touch with this film?

Dhawans son Rohit will be following in his fathers footsteps and make his directorial debut with Desi Boyz. The comedy has a cast comprising Akshay Kumar,John Abraham,Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh. Akshay will share screen space with Chitrangda for the first time. Only time will tell if Rohits debut film turns out to be a hit.

After this years debacle with No Problem,Anees Bazmee will be directing Akshay Kumar,Anil Kapoor,Suniel Shetty,Bobby Deol,Sonam Kapoor and Celina Jaitley in Thank You. The comedy has been shot in Canada. But will it be the surprise hit next year?
