The three days between the last day of voting May 13 and the day of counting May 16 had the BJP worked up over which of its top leaders addressed the maximum number of public rallies. As several reports suggested that Narendra Modi had beaten the others by addressing six-seven rallies a day over a 40-day period, the party delved deeper into the matter only to come out with the fact that it was in fact L K Advani who had more rallies under his belt, with Modi finishing third. In the end of course, the detail mattered little.
