TWO DEAD: Floodwaters inundated nearly 200 villages in Bihar’s Nalanda and Jehanabad districts and several areas in the district headquarters following heavy downpour over the last three days. Official sources said two people have drowned in the past two days. Another youth, Dinesh Kumar, was swept away by strong currents of the swollen Dardha river.

200 VILLAGES FLOODED: Water entered nearly 100 villages in Bind, Asthawan and Rahui blocks of Nalanda and submerged the roads linking them with Biharsharif. A report from Jehanabad said nearly 100 villages in Hulasganj and Modanganj development blocks were marooned due to breaches in the embankments of rain-fed Falgu and Dardha rivers.
