PUNE, Feb 8: Toning down the cost of the ambitious water supply project from Rs 427 to Rs 320 crore, the civic administration has tabled a docket seeking approval for the estimates. It has also proposed appointing Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India ICICI to prepare the feasibility report on how to execute the scheme which would meet the increasing water needs of the city.

The docket will be taken up for discussion at the standing committee8217;s meeting next week. The expert committee of additional city engineer water supply V G Dhadphale and retired additional city engineer H D Rao had scrutinised the report presented by Kirloskar Consultants and re-drafted it according to four parameters.

The scheme had been revised taking into consideration various factors like catering to the population till the year 2005 in the first phase.
