
NIMES, FRANCE, Oct 23: World champion Jan-Ove Waldner8217;s hopes of winning his second World Cup title rose, here when he was drawn in a fairly easy group which should see him progress comfortably into the quarter-finals.
The four-day event that comences tonight, comprises 16 champions from every continent and is outranked only by the World Championship and Olympics.
Sweden8217;s Waldner won the event in 1990, and has collected every other title in the world, and the 36,000 top prize will provide extra incentive. His Group A rivals are: Jean-Michel Saive Belgium, Damien Eloi and Christophe Flegout both France.
