One stabbed to death
A youth in the city was murdered on Saturday night by two men after a brief argument, a case registered in the Rander police station said. One Balwantbhai Maisuriya 28, a resident of Shardaben Ni Chal in Hidayatnagar area of Rander, entered into an argument with Jagdishbhai Chauhan and Babubhai Chauhan, both residents of Ambedkarnagar slum of the area, on Saturday night, the police said. Immediately afterwards, while Babubhai held Balwantbhai, the other, namely Jagdishbhai, stabbed him a number of times, the police added. The victim died on the spot. Both the accused later surrendered themselves to the Rander police and confessed their crime. A case of murder under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the police station.

Theft
The Limbyat police have registered a case of theft after valuables worth Rs 10,000 were stolen from a house at Ganeshnagar area of Limbyat early on Sunday. One Kamal Mangabhai complained to the police that unidentified people entered his house through the balcony and decamped with valuables and cash. A case under IPC 457 and 380 has been registered at the Limbyat police station and is being investigated.

Vehicle stolen
An autorickshaw GJ 5 U 6800 belonging to one Jayendra alias Kishore Patel was stolen from Rupam Cinema where it was parked, a case registered in the Salabatpura police station said on Sunday. A case under IPC 379 has been registered.

Hit-and-run
A cyclist sustained injuries on Saturday, when an unidentified scooterist rammed his vehicle into the cycle at Vadi Falia area, the Athwa Lines police said. Though the victim, Jayantilal Kayasth, lodged a complaint in the police station, he could not specify the registration number of the scooter, the police added. A case has been registered and is being investigated.
