VADODARA, July 27: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation VMC is seeking a loan of Rs 307 crore from the World Bank for civic projects.

At a meeting held with the State Government officials here on Monday, the civic body presented the list of projects which will later be forwarded to the World Bank.

According to sources in the VMC, they are seeking financial assistance for projects in the water, roads, storm water drains and drainage departments.

Sources say, Rs 119 crore is sought to bring water to the city from Narmada near Chandod. The amount will also cover the cost of building the installations needed to bring water to Vadodara.

The VMC is also seeking Rs 80 crore for road projects. The amount would be utilised to develop outer and inner ring roads in the city and lay roads in the town planning schemes which are being finalised.

VMC representatives asked for Rs 104 crore as a start towards financing the execution of master plans for drainage and storm water drains.
