May 5: Trailing 15-18, Vivek Sangh, Vasai beat Dr Shirodkar Sports Club 41-31 to enter the women8217;s semi-final of the AllIndia Level Kabaddi tournamment conducted by Maharishi Dayanand Sports Club at Worli Sports Club today.

Vivek, winner at the Shivai All India tournament, which concluded recently at Thane, were trailing by three points in the first-half but made a strong comeback in the second.

National players Priti Desai and Gautami Raut played a vital role in Vivek8217;s victory undoing some fine performances by Supriya Dudhavadkar and Leena Puralkar of Shirodkar8217;s.

In the men8217;s section, Air-India crushed Bombay Port Trust BPT 27-6 in front of the 5,000 odd crowd that had gathered to watch the proceedings.The BPT players failed to come up with a strong challenge against the airmen.
