The 12-day agitation by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti MRPS witnessed state-wide violence.
nAcirc;nbsp;One worker, Ravi, burnt himself to deatg in Anantapur district. Nine others who attempted self-immolation are stated to be in critical condition.
nAcirc;nbsp;As many as 36 RTC buses were completely burnt and 50 buses partially burnt. The corporation incurred a loss of Rs 2.6 crore.
nAcirc;nbsp;Around 1,100 MRPS workers were arrested in the last two weeks and the Cabinet sub-committee refused to release them unconditionally. 8220;Though we treat MRPS as a social movement, we will deal with them as per the law,8221; said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
