Vajpayee admitted to AIIMS

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was admitted to the AIIMS on Tuesday after he complained of giddiness.

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was admitted to the AIIMS on Tuesday after he complained of giddiness. A team of doctors examining him said that he will be kept under observation for a few days.

Accompanied by son-in-law, Ranjan Bhattacharya, Vajpayee 83 was brought to the hospital in the morning. Soon, an MRI was conducted which showed a 8220;blood clot8221;. 8220;It showed age-related problems. There could be bleeding in the brain,8221; said a doctor.

The team of doctors examining Vajpayee includes Dr Randeep Guleria, professor of medicine, Dr M V Padma, professor in the Neurology Department and Dr N K Mishra, neuro radiologist. AIIMS Director Dr P Venugopal was also present during the examination. 8220;He is stable, conscious, with normal vital signs. He had his evening tea and has been advised rest,8221; said the AIIMS authorities. Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Kapil Sibal came to see Vajpayee in the evening.
