
Carrying of arms banned
The City Police Commissioner, under the Bombay Police Act, has issued prohibitory orders banning carrying of arms and playing cricket on roads till May 31.
Coaching classes
The Institute of Bankers will commence their coaching classes from the third week of May. Interested candidates should contact the Bank of Baroda office, Mandvi between 2 and 4 pm.
SSI units
The District Industrial Centre has called on small scale industrial units with an investment upto Rs 3 crores to register themselves, according to an official press release here. The central government has by a notification hiked the limits of investment for small scale industries to Rs 3 crores.
Entrepreneurs have been asked to contact the centre8217;s office at Block C, Narmada Bhavan within 108 days of issuing of the notification.
MBA forms
The OPENMAT application forms for IGNOU MBA Entrance Test are available at the Vadodara IGNOU Study Centre. Those interested can collect the forms at the IGNOU office and filled forms should reach the centre by May 31. The entrance test will be held on July 26.
Yoga camp
The State Youth Board will organise a personality development and yoga camp for the youth in Kheda and Panchmahals districts. An official release said that interested youth between 15 and 35 years can apply to Assistant Director, Youth Board, Narmada Bhawan for details. The board will make arrangements for participants8217; lodging and boarding, the release said.
Training camps
The Gandhi Labour Institute will organise vocational training camps for workers of closed mills in the city from July 24. The camp will equip them with skills to enable them get self-employed. A preliminary workshop has also been organised on May 21 at the Majoor Mahajan office in Salatwada. Interested workers can attend the programme with their identity cards and relevant documents.
2-day workshop
A Two-day workshop on Motivation, Leadership Styles and Effectiveness Through Relational Excellence8217; for managers and executives from all fields has been organised by Arun Banavali on May 19 and 20 from 9.30 am and 5.30 pm at Hotel Yuvraj, Near S T Bus Depot.
Cultural centre
A Cultural Centre, Vyaktitva, has been started in the city to train people in arts, culture and silent learning. The institute, managed by Neelkamal Malhotra, is an attempt to create an atmosphere of learning creative writing, painting, science and technology. FSSI meeting
The Federation of Small Scale Industries has asked its members to raise any problems regarding industrial land, electric connections, and other related matters during the industries meeting with the District Industrial Centre on May 27.
