
Harni shacks removed
Vadodara Municipal Corporation workers removed 47 make-shift hutments from plot no 107 of Ward No 4 in Harni on Thursday. Though the removal was scheduled for last fortnight, the crackdown was postponed keeping the festivals in mind.
However, according to official information, all the families living in the slums have been temporarily rehabilitated nearby.
Blood donation
The staff of L amp; T Chiyoda Limited held a blood donation camp on Wednesday to mark the company8217;s 6th Incorporation Day. According to a company press note, several units of blood collected at the camp were donated to the Jalaram Blood Bank.
Emotional IQ
DR Shagufta Jabeen, consultant, would speak on 8220;emotional intelligence8221; at a lecture organised by Baroda Management Association BMA on Friday. The lecture which would begin at 6 pm would be held at BMA Conference Hall, Race Course, a press note said.
Temple function
The symbolic marriage ceremony of Goddess Tulsi would be held at the Lord Narsinhji Temple, M G Road here on November 23. A press note said that special functions would also be held to mark the occasion. The temple would remain open between 10 am and 4pm.
Panel discussion
The Indian Phrmaceutical Association, Vadodara branch, organised a panel discussion on, Profession of Pharmacy 8212; Introspection and Vision for Better Service8217; as a part of the 38th National Pharmacy Week. The discussion was held at the Federation Hall on Wednesday. Representatives from Drug Regulatory Agency and Community Pharmacy were present on the occasion.
Hobbyist dead
Coin collector Hasan Ali Momim 76 died of a jaundice infection, at his Wadi house, on Thursday morning. He is survived by five daughters and a son. Two of his daughters are settled in the United States.
His son Jafar Ali Momin said that the renowned coin collector had been suffering from jaundice infection for the past two weeks and had been admitted to the privately-run I A Shaikh Hospital outside Panigate five days ago.
