Suspecting adulteration in groundnut oil all over the State, the enforcement wing of the State Civil Supplies department has collected some more samples of edible oils from Kwant, Chhotaudepur and Waghodia in the past three days. According to official information, immediately after detecting irregularities at a Borsad-based oil company, a team of the wing collected samples from the Fatehgunj area in the city. The Borsad-based company is supposed to have sold the adulterated oil to these outlets.

State of SSG
Social worker Fatehsinh Rana has written to State health minister Ashok Bhatt about various inadequacies of the SSG Hospital. According to him, patients and their relatives were inconvenienced by the paucity of equipment and staff. While urging the minister to immediately provide the necessary equipment, Rana, however, lauded the recent cleanliness drive at the hospital and expressed hope it would continue throughout the year.

SLRs in Jamnagar
Jamnagar: Following a tip-off, a Jamnagar Customs team searched a specific area near Poshitra port on the Jamnagar coast and recovered two unclaimed self-loading rifles and more than 700 rounds of ammunition early on Sunday. Deputy Customs Commissioner Ashu Zindal told newsmen here that the SLRs and the ammunition valued at Rs 2.37 lakh were buried in the ground. He said the make of the arms was yet to be ascertained by experts.
