No headway in mystery blast case
Mystery continues to shroud the intriguing blast in the sky which stunned Karelibaug residents a week ago. With the Forensic Science Laboratory FSL yet to come out with its findings, the incident may continue to haunt the residents for some more time. Official sources said that the Vadodara police is yet to receive the FSL report which would throw light on the nature of the material which fell from the sky after a loud blast on last Sunday. Police officials investigating the matter admitted that there was no progress in the case as any breakthrough would depend on the FSL report only.

Teacher selected
Yogesh Kothari, principal of Shrikrishna Vidyalaya, Old Padra Road, has been selected for the National Best Teacher Award, 1998, by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. President K R Narayanan will give away the award to Kothari at a special function in September. Kothari, who has done his doctorate on Population Problems,8217; has won several awards in the past.

Centre approved
Office of the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Gujarat, has approved Urja Burns Centre as a medical hospital for company-reimbursable patients for waiver of the income tax on medical expenditure paid by the company. This will be also applicable to family members of the employee, a centre press note said here on Sunday.

Officials warned
Surat: Minister of State for Agriculture Bahecharbhai Bhadani has warned that government officials associated with agricultural departments will be heavily penalised if they were found showing laxity in their work. Bhadani issued the warning while addressing agriculture officials from Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Dangs district in Surat on Saturday.
