
Two tribals killed in train mishap
In a tragic incident at a remote railway track about five km from the Karjan railway station, two motorcycle-borne tribals were killed after they were hit by a speeding train, presumed to be Rajdhani Express, late on Monday night. According to the railway police, the two 8212; identified as Raman Rathwa, 27, and Kanti Rathwa, 35, who is reported to be a collectorate official 8212; were residents of two different villages in Jetpurpavi taluka. Their badly damaged vehicle Yamaha motorcycle GJ-6-FF-3545 was also found from a nearby area.
Bail granted
District session judge V K Mali granted conditional bail to the two accused in the February 10 case of firing on builder Upendra Patel on a deposit of Rs 25,000 each. Earlier, the Detection Crime Branch of the Vadodara Police produced Arvind D Jani and Kirtikant Soni before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate A G Vasa as their four-day remand ended on Tuesday. A senior DCB officer told Express Newsline that further remand was not required as the accused had been interrogated thoroughly.
Shops raided
District supply officials inspected five fair price shops in the district and seized various items worth about Rs 40,000 on Tuesday. Items worth Rs 30,000 were seized from Ramswaroop Jaiswal8217;s shop in Kwant, among others.
