
RJP finalises three names for LS seat
A meeting of the city executive of the Rashtriya Janata Party held under the chairmanship of RJP leader Rajendrasinh Rathod on Sunday finalised three names to contest the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat during the mid-term polls likely this year. They are former Independent MLA from Vadodara Rural Upendrasinh Gohil, municipal councillor Chandrakant Srivastava and Devyaniraje Gaekwad, who contested the previous elections on RJP ticket. The list has been sent to the State unit to decide a candidate.
Garden opened
The 53rd garden of the city near Vadsar was inaugurated by Mayor Bharti Vyas on Saturday. Spread over 6030 square feet area, the garden has been laid at a cost of Rs 80,137. Among others, standing committee chairman N V Patel and opposition leader in the VMC Kanchanbhai Parmar, were present at the inauguration.
3-day workshop
A three-day workshop on Implementing the Project Approach in Indian Classroom8217; begins on Tuesday. Organised jointly by the Early Child Development-Learning Resource Centre and the Chetan Balwadi Laboratory Nursery School of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies of the MSU, the seminar will be held at Chetan Balwadi. Seventeen teachers from nine schools in Vadodara along with five teachers from Surat, Ahmedabad and Kalol will take part in the workshop, to be conducted by Jigisha Shastri under the guidance of professor Prerna Mohite, head of the department of HDFS.
Farewell function
A musical and literary programme was organised by a group of artistes at Premanand Sahitya Hall, Dandia Bazaar, here on Saturday to bid farewell to artiste Natwar Bhatt, who is going abroad.
