Complaint in cub case withdrawn
The Social Forestry wing of the State Forest Department has filed an application before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Vadodara withdrawing its complaint in the case of exhibition of a lion cub at a farmhouse in the city on February 27. In its application on Thursday, the Forest Department stated that since it had already arrested the accused under the Wildlife Protection Act and released them on bail as per the orders of the Gujarat High Court, a complaint in the court was redundant.

Traffic diversion
The city traffic police has effected traffic diversion on Chhani-Bajwa Road and Nyay Mandir-Maharani Shantadevi Hospital Road for road repairs and laying of drainage pipelines. According to a traffic police press release, Chhani-Bajwa underbridge road will be closed from March 22 to May 1 for repairs and all the traffic from Chhani going towars Bajwa will be diverted via Dashrath-Karchiya village and Gorwa-IPCL Township. Similarly, Dandia Bazaar-Maharani Shantadevi Hospital Road will be closed from March 18 to May 20 for laying drainage pipelines near Siddhi Vinayak temple near Lakdaipul. The traffic on this stretch would be diverted through Raopura as well as Rajmahal road.

Appointed
Janak Shah, Reader in the Department of Accounting and financial management has been appointed as vice-dean of the Faculty of Commerce.

Exhibition
A three-day exhibition of pottery, painting and woodwork by tribals would be held at the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts beginning Friday. The exhibition marks the culmination of a three-month tribal artists8217; workshop held in Chhotaudepur by the Bhasha Research and Publication Centre.
