City cinemas begin clean-up
Cinemas in the city began cleaning and fumigating their auditoria from midnight on Wednesday following directions issued by Police Commissioner Kuldip Sharma. The operations were expected to be over by the time for the first shows on Thursday.

Home science full
Dean, Faculty of Home Science, Anupama Shah has announced that the seats for local applicants for FYBSc Home were full. In case of any dropouts, a notice for admissions would be issued in local newspapers and put up on the faculty notice board, she said in a release on Tuesday.

RJP appointment
Rajendrasinh Rathod was unanimously appointed RJP city unit president in the presence of party supremo Shankersinh Vaghela. Vinod Naik and Chetan Gore were appointed general secretaries. Rathod said they would soon organise programmes to protest the rise in prices of essential commodities.

Holiday special
The summer holiday special express train number 407/408 between Bikaner and Bandra terminus will run four days a week instead of two days upto August 13. The timings and halts will remain the same.

Foundation day
The Bharatiya Telephone Employees Union Line Staff and Class IV, affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, has invited members of both unions to attend the public meetings at the City Telephone Exchange, Jail Road 4 p.m. and Jawaharnagar Telephone Exchange 10 p.m. on Thursday to mark BMS8217;s foundation day.

Merit list
The merit list for admissions to diploma textile courses for SSC and HSC graduates has been displayed on the Department of Textile Engineering notice board, faculty of technology and engineering dean S Shah said, adding that interviews would be held on July 31.

Pension
The Retired Officers8217; Forum has requested those who have retired from Central Government services, including Defence, prior to 1986 to fill up and send their required forms to pension sanctioning authorities before July 31. For details contact ROF Secretary C S Rangaswamy on 480113.

Date extended
The admission procedure for the Masters course of the Faculty of Arts have been extended to July 31 due to delay in the declaration of T Y B A results. The results have been withheld, as many students have not cleared their prior ATKT examinations.
