US warns citizens travelling to Pak

The US has warned its citizens against making non-essential travel to Pakistan in light of the Taliban and al-Qaeda posing “a potential danger to Americans” in the Islamic state.

The US has warned its citizens against making non-essential travel to Pakistan in light of the Taliban and al-Qaeda posing “a potential danger to Americans” in the Islamic state.

The US Department of State issued the travel warning and informed American citizens of security concerns in Pakistan. A statement by State Department warned US citizens against non-essential travel to Pakistan in light of the threat of terrorist activity.

It also cautioned Americans currently in Pakistan to maintain a good situational awareness, avoid crowds and demonstrations and keep a low profile. According to the statement, the presence of the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Pakistan poses a potential danger to American citizens. It notes that terrorists have demonstrated their willingness and capability to attack targets where Americans are known to visit.
