US rules out being judgemental8217;

Washington, Aug 13: A day after the United States sought to apportion more blame to India for non-adherence to the 1991 agreement with Pakistan, Undersecretary of State Thomas Pickering today sought to assure that Washington did not want to be judgemental8217; on the accord.

Pickering8217;s assurance came during a meeting with Indian Ambassador to US Naresh Chandra at the State Department where the issue was raised by the latter, Indian diplomatic sources here said.

Pickering, according to the sources, told the Indian envoy that 8220;it was not the intention of the United States to give a verdict or to be judgemental8221; on specific clauses of the 1991 accord.
