Facing a non-bailable warrant from a Hubli Court in a rioting case, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharati today sent her resignation yet again to BJP chief M. Venkaiah Naidu.

8216;8216;I sent my resignation to Naidu at 3 pm and requested him to accept it. In today8217;s situation, my resignation is necessary,8217;8217; she said. Asked why she did not submit her resignation to Governor Balram Jakhar, she said it was the BJP Parliamentary Board that had made her CM. The BJP Parliamentary Board will consider Bharati8217;s resignation on Monday.

In a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, she charged the Congress with playing 8216;8216;petty politics8217;8217; by reopening a decade-old case which the Karnataka government had withdrawn in January 2002. The case against Bharati was registered in August 1994, in Hubli for hoisting the Tricolour at the Idgah maidan.

8216;8216;Let Sonia Gandhi show courage in removing tainted ministers from the UPA government and accept my challenge for an open debate on the national flag and sacrifice for the nation,8217;8217; she said adding that she would launch 8216;8216;Tiranga Yatra8217;8217; from Hubli to Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar. 8212; PTI
