Former world heavyweight champion boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a car crash in Nigeria on Monday with two others killed in the incident, reports said. Local police has reportedly said that Joshua was taken to hospital after the crash and he suffered minor injuries but is “fine”.

According to a BBC report, the accident happened on the Ogun–Lagos state expressway on Monday when the 36-year-old boxer was travelling in an SUV that was part of a two-vehicle convoy. The Independent, quoting eyewitnesses, reported that Federal Road Safety Corps arrived at the scene shortly after the crash.

Local media reports stated that reason behind the crash remains unclear.
