PUNE, April 6: Gymkhana Stars registered an effortless nine wicket win over Young Tayyabi Club in the ongoing Summer leagues cricket tournament, conducted by the Poona District Cricket Association. A blistering bowling performance by Uday Bal, who scalped six wickets and a hat-trick for only 17 runs, curtailed the Young Tayyabi Club innings at 125. Gymkhana Stars attained the target easily after losing a lone wicket, with Mohan Phadke (44) and Guruprasad Kapale (38) remaining unbeaten.

Mazir Ali Shield: Melbourne Cricket Club defeated PCMC by 7 wickets to lift the Nazir Ali Shield. PCMC, in their initial knock, rattled up 149 for 9 in the stipulated overs. Later Melbourne Cricket Club breezed past the total with 7 wickets to spare. Prashant Walture played an unbeaten knock of 69 while Himanshu Ghodke chipped in with 37 runs.
