NASHIK, FEB 6: Two persons arrested by the police on charges of theft escaped from the Malegaon sub-jail on Monday. The accused, Mahesh More 18 and Sakharam Gangaram 35 were arrested three days ago. On Monday morning, the guards found that the cell in which the accused were lodged was vacant and the iron bars on the window were found bent.
Four police constables on guard duty at the sub-jail have been booked for negligence of duty. They are Anna Chavan, Ananda Wagh, J B Sonawane and Raja Patil. This is the third incident of its kind in the sub-jail in the past four years.
