Vijayawada, June 2: Former Indian off spinner Erapalli Prasanna feels it will be a South Africa-Pakistan World Cup final unless India sustain the confidence they showed in the last three games and come up with an improved showing.

Prasanna also felt there is no point in debating Sachin Tendulkar8217;s batting order if others are also getting the runs. Excerpts:

Q: What are India8217;s chances?

A: It is nice to see them crossing the first hurdle though they were almost written off when they lost first two matches. Now that they have regained confidence, nobody can stop us from repeating 8217;83. Q: What went wrong in the first two matches?

A: We did not play poor cricket. We had a tough game against South Africa. We made them struggle until Klusener and Rhodes blasted the weary Indian attack towards the end. Zimbabwe was sheer carelessness by some batsmen.

Q: Should Sachin Tendulkar be demoted in the batting order8230;

A: One reason could be to shield Sachin in the early overs as the ball seams inEngland. And of course, Sachin is quite adaptable as he is a great player. It matters little wherever he bats when the other batsmen are doing equally well.

Q: You had a lot of experience in the English conditions. And since it is mid-summer, is it a good idea to include two spinners in the remaining matches?

A: The spinners can grip the ball better from now on. But unfortunately, we don8217;t have spinners like Muralitharan or Saqlain to exploit sporting English wickets. But still, I prefer an extra spinner to a medium pacer.

Q: Do you think Harbhajan could have been a better choice than Nikhil Chopra?

A: Certainly, since he spins the ball much more than others. But what is the use of talking about it now. It is the five wise men who decide and perhaps they were correct in picking up Chopra, who can also bat well. My feeling is that since we have such a strong batting line-up, there is nothing wrong going in for a specialist bowler.

Q: Finally, who do you think are the favourites?

A: It seems to bea South Africa-Pakistan final unless India come up with a miracle. Australia have regained confidence and the Kiwis too can spring in a surprise, so who knows?
