8226; The UPA government is so bothered about the truth about Godhra and the Gujarat riots, it has left no stone unturned. We even have two separate commissions investigating the same. Interestingly both parties have come up with conflicting reports. Why is the same government not bothered to make the report of the 8217;84 riots public?

Disgraceful talk
8226; Earlier it was the pitch-digging of the Shiv Sainiks. Now, BJP leaders need to curb Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi8217;s foul-mouthed 8220;Miyan Musharraf8221; rhetoric. It only makes him a laughing stock and brings disgrace to the high office he is holding. Parties need to behave in a responsible manner. Leaders need to be mature and graceful in their discourse. We earnestly wish that the apprehensions of Pakistani team about playing in Ahmedabad are proved wrong at the end of the day. Let the Indian government reiterate its commitment for providing fool-proof security to the Pakistani team. Let the Pakistan Cricket Board shed its reservations and test the waters itself for once.

Away with Bihar
8226; This refers to Vandita Mishra8217;s 8216;We don8217;t talk anymore8217; IE, February 11. I think it will be better for India if Bihar does not have any say in the national parliament. Only thugs and goons and cheats are elected from Bihar.

8226; The writer imparts some clarity to the political scene of Bihar today. Laloo has been telling the electorate that he is Bihar, reminiscent of 8216;India is Indira8217;. He has also reduced his RJD to a family enterprise. In such a situation, it is cruel on the part of Shaibal Gupta to talk of 8220;sunrise8221; and 8220;sunset8221; politics. On the other hand, Rakesh Chaubey8217;s 8216;Food for the soul, not just for the stomach8217; IE, February 9 clearly conveys that the downtrodden have no higher expectations from Laloo! Vandita Mishra talks of 8220;intense social churning8221; in Bihar. Well, the truth is that Laloo is simply promoting the interests of his clan, which is 17 per cent of the vote. As for the Muslims and their vote, I still go by the reports of your Patna correspondent, which tell a grim story.

Faux education
8226; The recent judgment of the Supreme Court, in a case filed by noted educationalist Yashpal, would curtail the mushrooming of educational institutions that have the sole aim of making money or propagating superstitious and fundamentalist ideas. The court said all the private universities established in the state under the law would cease to exist. There are other so-called universities which are duping students with the promise of foreign degrees and many students succumb. The government should weed out these universities.
