TEHRAN, FEBRUARY 2: Two planes collided on the ground at Tehran8217;s Mehrabad Airport on Wednesday killing at least two people.

Firefighters who arrived on the scene soon after said one plane was an airbus belonging to an Iranian Airline while the other one was a C-130 transporter that belonged to the Iranian military.

Official news agency Irna said an Iran Air Airbus-A300 passenger plane was taxiing toward the hangar for maintenance when it collided with the Iranian C-130 military transporter that was speeding for takeoff when the two planes collide and caught fire.

Airport authorities refused to comment and reporters were not allowed on the tarmac. The firefighters said there were at least two dead, but the official news agency Irna said there were four injured. The agency reported no deaths.
