Two Hundred students take out Khalsa march

CHANDIGARH, Feb 19: About 200 students of the Punjab University and the SGGS College, Sector 26, here, participated in the Khalsa Vidhayak Chetna March from Chandigarh to Anandpur Sahib on Thursday to celebrate the tercentenary of the Khalsa.

The march terminated at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib. At Anandpur Sahib, the students were presented siropas, a press release issued by Hirday Pal Singh, organiser of the march, stated.

Students were addressed by Dr M. S. Rahi, board member of Penal Reform International and general secretary, Guru Nanak Universal Brotherhood Society, Dr K. S. Chabra, former head of the Law Department, GNDU, Amritsar, and Amarinder Singh, SGPC member.

The objective of the march, it was stated, quot;was to create awareness of the basic tenets of Sikhism among the youthquot;.
