Two booked for power theft

Chandigarh, Oct 5: The police have booked M.S. Gyani and his wife, Jawala Devi, for allegedly stealing electricity. Sector 45 Dev Samaj College principal V. Bhargava had complained that the couple, who resided in a jhuggi in the college, was using electricity unauthorisedly from the college.

2 arrested for possessing liquor
The city police have arrested two Panipat residents, Ashok Kumar and Dyal Das, and recovered about 700 pouches of whiskey from their possession. They were reportedly taking these to Panipat when they were caught near the Sector 17 Inter-state Bus Terminus.

Car stolen
Ashok Garg of Sector 26 Grain Market has reported to the police that his Maruti car CH-01-Z-7631 has been stolen from his residence.
