CHANDIGARH, Oct 13: A resident of Sector 38-A, Neelam committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her house here this morning.

The cause of suicide is not known yet. According to police sources, no suicide note has been found.

Neelam, 21, was doing some course in computers from an institute in Sector 17 after finishing her B.A.

The police said that her sister-in-law brother8217;s wife was the only person present at home when she took the extreme step. According to the police, the deceased told her sister-in-law that she was going upstairs to study. However, sometime later when somebody came to meet her, the deceased8217;s sister-in-law went to call her and found her hanging from the ceiling fan in her room, the police said.

The body has been sent to Sector 16 General Hospital for post mortem.
