Rajiv Bajaj and Tanvir Gill lived up to their top billing and made it to the title round of the men8217;s singles at the first Pramod Mahajan Memorial Delhi State Ranking badminton tournament at the Karnail Singh Stadium.
Top seed Rajiv Bajaj8217;s accurate placements quelled a late challenge from Davinder Dhillon to make him the winner of this semi-final tie, 21-15, 24-22. The scoreline in the other semi-final read 21-14, 21-17 in favour of Gill, but it was an erratic performance from the second seed.
His opponent Rudra Kaushik, despite giving a good fight,could not take advantage of his inconsistency and it was a lightning smash from Gill which drew applause from the onlookers and ended the contest. The ladies final will be played out between Mohita Sahdev and Gayatri.
