Toofani gets bail

PATNA, December 15: Former Bihar minister for animal husbandry Bholaram Toofani was granted bail by the Patna High Court in a conspiracy angle case of the multi-crore fodder scam case. Justice P K Sarin allowed Toofani8217;s plea for bail in the case relating to fraudulent withdrawal of more than Rs 37 crore from the Chaibasa treasury by the officials of the animal husbandry department. Justice Sarin directed Toofani to furnish a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh and two sureties of like amount in the court of the designated CBI judge, S K Lal.

The court also asked Toofani to deposit his passport, if any, with the designated court and not to leave the country without prior permission of the court.
