CHANDIGARH, May 7: One of the accused in the Jessica Lal murder case, Amandeep Singh Gill, alias Tony, who was working as General Manager in Coke at Delhi, spent most of his youth here.

Belonging to a land owning family of Barnala in Sangrur district, Tony has done his B.A. from Government Collage for Men, Sector 11, and then went on to do his Diploma in Business Management. He got a job at Pepsi where he joined as an assistant manager and eventually rose to the position of the General Manager of the Chandigarh unit. He later joined Coke and was transferred to Varanasi. Some time ago he had joined as General Manager of Coke at Delhi. He is reportedly drawing a handsome salary, besides perks from the company.

According to the people who have worked with him, he was a hardcore soft drink guy8217;. He was friendly and was liked by the employees. He was known to socialise and host parties.

According to his father8217;s friends, Tony was well mannered, with no known previous history of crime. He was married about six months ago to a girl from S.A.S. Nagar. The girl8217;s parents are both doctors and are working at senior positions with the Punjab Government. The couple was staying in Friends Colony in the capital.

His father retired from a nationalised bank as chief manager about four years back. Tony8217;s younger brother is studying in GCM, Chandigarh.
