EVEN before his debut film has hit the cinemas, Ritesh Deshmukh to some, he will always be known as Maharashtra CM Vilasrao Deshmukh8217;s son has already signed up a prestigious second project. Producer Vashu Bhagnani has roped in the young actor for his next, which also stars Arjun Rampal and Esha Deol. Deshmukh, determined not to use his daddy8217;s good offices to further his own acting career, is a little anxious to see how the audience reacts to his debut in Tujhe Meri Kasam. He8217;s sworn off using abusive language on screen and lip-to-lip kissing. Ask him if the same rules apply off-camera, and he blushes. 8216;8216;I hardly use bad language,8217;8217; he says. 8216;8216;And I don8217;t have a girlfriend either,8217;8217; he adds.
Humble Pie
SUCH a pity, the things you have to do when the going8217;s not so good. Sunil Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan haven8217;t exactly been the best of friends, constantly snubbing each other in the media, making digs at each other every now and then. That Shah Rukh has always been the bigger star of the two is common knowledge, but Shetty hasn8217;t done too badly for himself over the years. It8217;s only recently that his star has fallen, and the actor has had to resign himself to B-grade multi-starrers and pointless action flicks. It has been learnt now 8212; gosh, and this must hurt him 8212; that Sunil will be playing an all-out negative role in Shah Rukh8217;s next home production.

OKAY, so we know now that Pooja Bhatt and Ranvir Shorey have been a couple for the last few months. Some say the whole controversy each beating up the other and the subsequent police case has been cooked up to generate publicity for Bhatt8217;s latest production, Jism, in which Ranvir has a supporting role. Why they need this kind of free publicity one cannot understand, considering the steamy promos of the film are already the talk of the town!
Mamma Act Redux
GOOD heavens! Jaya Bachchan isn8217;t going anywhere8230; After all the bad press she received for her role in Karan Johar8217;s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Mrs B has once again signed up for Johar8217;s next, Kal Ho Na Ho. To be directed by Nikhil Advani, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, and will be shot in Canada and New York early next year. Now Mrs Bachchan will play Zinta8217;s mother. Apparently, Johar pleaded with the senior actress to take up the job even though Mrs B wasn8217;t particularly keen to return to the studios.
