The transparency issue in cricket

The basic and first consideration for a wholesome sport to flourish in this country is a good officialdom. While cricket8217; head honchos have been able to gather the moolah in millions, there has probably been less of a gain in credibility. The power-play no pun intended, the wheeling-dealing and such continues, teams are still named off whims be it the selectors8217; or the coach8217;s and tournaments dumped at will.

When this regime came into power, one thing they promised was transparency. Where is that vital part of the promise going to be honoured? Will the public ever come to know why a player has been selected and why one has been dropped, or why one is being constantly ignored, like Anil Kumble?

A call to humanity

One more call to humanity. Please understand that Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest batsman India has ever produced and is likely to produce in a long, long time. Hence it is mandatory that the Indian 8216;thinktank8217;, as some intellectually challenged are called, secure a permanent slot, preferably in the opening zone, for His Greatness. He will deliver, we are all sure. If he doesn8217;t, well, there is something wrong with Indian cricket. Not with Sachin. Think about it.
