Rahul Sharma, Apple iPod
A few months ago, the santoor exponent got a super present. 8216;8216;It stores 19 days of music,8217;8217; says 32-year-old Rahul Sharma, when you ask him about his iPod. A 8216;8216;fan8217;8217; not only gave Sharma the gift, but also transferred music from his hard disk, along with photographs of CD inlays for the musician. 8216;8216;I haven8217;t listened to all the music yet,8217;8217; says Sharma, who8217;s clued in to classical, but is also inclined towards some Bollywood pop.

Ravi Shankar 038; Yehudi Menuhin
East Meets West is interesting because it introduced the West to the sitar. It8217;s very traditional and not really fusion, but a great study on music.

RD Burman
He8217;s always been my favourite because he was ahead of his time. I love songs like Hum Tum Gum Sum, sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle, from the 1974 Rajesh Khanna-Tanuja starrer Humshakal.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan 038; Michael Brooks
In a CD called Night Song. I like it for the sheer compositions and how the soft qawwalis blend with the bass sound of the guitar.

Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia
There8217;s a piece based on Raag Malkauns, which is one of my favourite raags, and I think it sounds brilliant on the flute. The CD8217;s called Flying Beyond.

Pandit Shivkumar Sharma
Has to be my dad8217;s thematic album, Feelings. I8217;ve been listening to it since my school days.
