Thane, Feb 16: A prominent fighter from Maharashtra and socialist leader G B Tamhane Anna died of old age at his residence at Mulund this afternoon. Tamhane was 95. He was the elder brother of Datta Tamhane and Natha Tamhane, Samajwadi leaders from Thane district. Anna Tamhane was associated with the social movements launched by Sane Guruji and Baba Amte. His funeral took place this evening and was attended by Education Minister Sudhir Joshi and Thane Mayor Premsingh Rajput.
