BANGALORE, June 26: Siddarth Sharma of Karnataka stole the limelight, upsetting No. 2 seed Kedar Tembe of Maharashtra in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in the under-16 boys singles pre-quarterfinals of the Embassy-sponsored all-India AITA ranking tournament at the Sadashivanagar Club courts on Thursday.

Two other seeds 8212; Dipesh Rao No 5 and Karan Doctor No 7 both of Maharashtra 8212; fell by the wayside before reaching the semi-final stage. In the deferred matches, Nirmit Shetty of Karnataka battled it out to oust Dipesh with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 win. Kamala Kannan of Tamil Nadu had little difficulty in defeating his fancied rival Karan while conceding only four games at 6-1, 6-4.
