New Delhi, Mar 14: Communications minister Jagmohan dismissed criticism on Sunday that the Government’s move to freeze hikes in telephone call charges will shake investor confidence.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Internet website of the department of telecommunications (DOT), Jagmohan said the rates charged by state units and private firms were the same.

Private telecom firms protested last week after the Government and suspended new tariffs announced by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
