Ravi Jhankal must be one excited actor. A National School of Drama garduate Jhankal has acted in several art films like Sooraj Ka Saatvaan Ghoda, Rudali, Darmiyaan, Aaghat, to name a few apart from serials like Junoon, Discovery of India, Farz, Tamas, Sankranti, and Amravati Ki Kahaniyan. Also, he is one of the very few Indian actors to have acted in English films such as City Of Joy. Well the reason for his excitement is he8217;s acted in Shyam Benegal8217;s latest film Samar produced by NFDC in which he has a very important role. And he8217;s been nominated in theBest Supporting Actor8217; category for the coming National Awards.

At it again
Director Sunil Agnihotri and producer Sattee Shourie are back in the news, Their parting of the ways after a major showdown when he was directing her daily soap Yug is an old story. So the entire industry was surprised when they patched up recently and he got back to directing the same old soap which had gone off the air and was scheduled to return under a new name Nav Yug. They were shooting day and night at Film city as they no new episodes in the bank. But now we hear there are problems again and they have parted ways following some dispute over money matters. Still, please don8217;t be surprised or shocked if they patch up again.

Hello Darling
Jung didn8217;t do well on Doordarshan. It came back as Vishwaas on Zee and was pushed to an obscure slot of 11 pm on Sundays which is hardly watched. But producer Jay Mehta son of veteran film producer Pranlal Mehta seems undeterred. He8217;s come up with yet another seires called Darling Chalo Sasural scheduled for Zee. This time he8217;s trying his hand at comedy. It8217;s being written by Ajay Khamosh who8217;d written a few episodes of Nirma Aahaa and is directed by Tarun Chopra who8217;s done the game show Ek Minute before. The serial stars Nasir, Shama Deshpande, Usha Bachani and above all Ashok Saraf and that too in a double role 8212; and what could be funnier than that?

Cricket kills
Talking of the World Cup, we wonder if the TV producers are cursing the game and the man who invented it. Due to the World Cup, there are many serials which have been postponed, because the Cup could kill the viewership for a new programme. Among the ones deferred are Soni Razdan8217;s Aur Phir Ek Din on Star Plus, Ajai Kartik8217;s Sankalp on Zee, Ravi Rai8217;s Sparsh on Sony, Manish Goswami8217;s daily soap Kartavya on Zee, Jay Mehta8217;s Darling Chalo Sasural and the Adhikari Brothers tele feature film Chebraa which was to premiere on Doordarshan.
