MUMBAI, JULY 28: ADI J Engineer, whole-time director of Tata Power, will be taking over as managing director of Tata Electric Companies (TEC) with effect from August 11, 2000.Tata Electric Companie (TEC), which announced its quarterly results on Thursday, has recorded a modest rise in net profit to Rs 83 crore, up from Rs 79 crore in the same period last year. Total revenue increased 26 per cent from Rs 725 crore to Rs 915 crore during the first quarter. Total power sales were higher at 2,470 million units, as against 2467 units in the same quarter last year. TEC holds licenses for supply of power to Mumbai and greater Mumbai."TEC is currently in a phase of implementing its new growth initiatives and Engineer's vast experience, expertise and in-depth knowledge about the company and the power sector make him the ideal candidate to lead the company's growth plans," the company said in a statement.
