Nobody can speak louder than BJP member S S Ahluwalia in the Rajya Sabha and in any din, it is his voice that is heard the loudest. Over the years Ahluwalia has earned a reputation of being the member most effective in raising issues that the chair has not permitted and in drowning the voice of his opponents. Ahluwalia, however, has competition. Last Tuesday, the MP was not present in the Upper House and the Samajwadi Party members ran to the well and disrupted the House, forcing an adjournment. When Ahluwalia was leaving home for Parliament later in the day, his wife asked him, “The House has been adjourned even without you there. Why do you need to go?”
