Suspended cop kills constable on duty

VADODARA, Oct 19: A constable posted at the Makarpura Police Station was allegedly killed by a suspended police constable on Monday night. An illicit relationship between the deceased and the accused constable’s wife reportedly triggered the murder.

Mukesh Kaka, suspended a couple of months back from the city Police Control Room, went to the Makarpura PS at around 8 pm on Monday. He asked Jibhai Rohit to accompany him to the nearby `paan’ shop where they picked a fight.

Kaka allegedly hit Rohit severely in stomach. Rohit fell on the cover of a manhole and received serious injuries in his head. He died instantly. Kaka fled the spot. A case of murder under Section 302 IPC has been registered.
