Woman killed
Seventy-year-old Ratanben was stabbed to death on Wednesday by her neighbour following a dispute over land, according to a complaint lodged by her son-in-law Lallubhai Gomanbhai Parmar. Parmar has stated that his neighbour Tribhovanbhai Muljibhai Sonawadia either committed the crime himself or hired someone for the purpose. He said there was a dispute regarding an open space near their house, in Siddharth Chowk in Dabholi village. Ratanben was hit on the head with a sharp-edged weapon, the Katargam Police said.

Body found
The body of an unidentified man was found from near the Mathura Bhavan, opposite the Surat Railway Station on Thursday morning, according to the Mahidharpura Police. The victim was 55. A resident of the area, Harishbhai Babulal Sharma informed the police about the body.

Burglary
Thieves broke into a school building of the Nagar Prathamik Shikshan Samiti of the Surat Municipal Corporation and stole electrical instruments, according to a complaint lodged by Bipinchandra Jashmatbhai Patel, a resident of 71, Punamnagar on the Bhatar Road with the Udhna Police. Patel has stated that school, opposite the Baroda Rayon Corporation. was closed for five days, when the theft occurred.

Theft

Cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 37,950 were stolen in two cases of theft on Wednesday, the police said. According to the police, gold ornaments worth Rs 20,000 were stolen in broad daylight from Ramilaben Thakkar8217;s house in Chhipwada locality. Thakkar has also named one Hansaben Chandrakant Rajput, her neighbour, as the suspect who came to her house and opened the cupboard. In another case, cash and gold jewellery worth Rs 17,950 was stolen from Vishwanath Rudaiya8217;s house, in Narmada Colony in Chhani area.

Caught stealing
One Ramesh Sakharam Motram, who tried to steal a motorcycle GJ-6-GG-6151 by opening the vehicle8217;s lock with the help of a duplicate key, was caught red-handed when he was about to drive it away, the police said. A case has been registered against the accused in the Sayajigunj police station and is being investigated.

Injured
One Vimlaben Udeysinh Gamalsinh Parmar, a resident of Vasna village, sustained injuries when a vendor assaulted her with a broken soft-drink bottle on Thursday, the police said. According to the police, the incident occurred after Vimlaben and Kalidas Ishwarbhai Solanki had an argument over putting up larries.
