Shop searched
The District Supply officials conducted a surprise search in a shop selling edible oil in Fatehpura area on Monday and sealed various brands of edible oil there. According to official information, it was suspected that the owner of the shop Navjivan Stores8217; was indulging in pasting duplicate labels of famous brand names on edible oil tins. A DSO spokesman said the matter was being interrogated and action would be taken in a day or two after confirmation of fault.

Journalism forms
The application forms for the two-year Master8217;s in Communication Studies MCS course will be available from the office of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, M S University from Tuesday. The last date for submitting the forms is July 7 and the entrance test will be held on July 12. The cost of the form is Rs 100 each, according to an official release.

Power theft
The Gujarat Electricity Board GEB has detected power theft to the tune of Rs 70 lakh from power pilferers in the first week of June. According to an official release, irregularities were detected in more than 550 cases out of the 7,057 connections checked by the squads. More than 280 persons were found indulging in power theft. In 74 cases, the meter was found to be closed and in 22 cases it was found functioning at a slow speed.

2-day seminar
Infinitie consultants, a management consultancy company with international experience, is organising a two-day seminar-cum-workshop on Environment, Health and Safety EHS its Relevance and Importance in Today8217;s Business8217; beginning Friday. Valedictory
The 21st Safety Week Valedictory function, organised by the Safety and Environment Management Division of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation ONGC, will be held on Tuesday at the ONGC Officers8217; Club, Makarpura, at 4.30 p.m.
