Petition filed
Silvassa-based Advocate S R Rakeshe has filed a writ petition in the Mumbai High Court challenging the 8220;Constitutional void in union territories of Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli8221; where a constitutional post of administrator is lying vacant for the last two months following transfer of administrator S P Aggarwal on June 25. It is for the first time in the history of post-independent India that the post of an administrator has remained vacant for such long time, leading to administrative problems. Neither has a new administrator been appointed, nor charge is being given to competent persons. The constitutional void amounts to failure of the union government, the advocate has said in the petition. The case will come up for hearing on Friday.
