SGCCI offers short-term fashion course
The ladies wing of the Southern Gujarat of Chamber and Industry will conduct a short-term fashion designing course for 8220;a reasonable fee8221; between 3 pm and 5 pm at the chamber building. Vandana Bhattacharya of the National Institute of Professional Courses will provide the training. Interested candidates have been advised to registered their name at the chamber office.

Prohibited areas
Vadodara: Seven police station areas in the Chhotaudepur sub-division have been declared prohibited8217; areas in view of the forthcoming Parliamentary polls. An official release said here on Wednesday that no unauthorised person would be allowed in Chhotaudepur, Rangpur, Kwant, Jetpurpavi, Karawi, Sankheda and Bodeli police station areas till August 23 under Section 144 of the CrPC.

Zoo open
The Sayajibaug Zoo will stay open on Thursday, usually a holiday, on account of the Gauri vrat festival. The Sardar Patel Planetarium will also be open on Thursday.

Action sought
The Gujarat Paryavaran Raksha Samiti have urged the Forest authorities to take action against several hotel-owners along the Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway who allegedly display animals like antelopes and monkeys in cages.
