
Minister to attend open house in city
State Industries minister Suresh Mehta will preside over an open house on Thursday. The open house, to begin at 11.30 am in Samruddhi hall, has been organised by the Southern Gujarat of Chamber and Industry for redressal of industrial issues. While Union Textiles minister Kashiram Rana will be the chief guest, Law Minister Hemant Chaptwala will also be present.
PTC exams
The Primary Teachers Course (PTC) examination will be held on May 17 and 18, according to a notice issued by the state examination secretary.
Health drive
Mayor Savita Sharda flagged off a `Jeevan Suraksha Yatra’ on May 1 from the Katargam health centre. Aimed at providing medical facilities in slum areas, the yatra, organised by the SMC, passed through various slums adjoining Ambikanagar, Makanji Park, Vijay Nagar, among others. Addressing the gathering, the mayor said the objective of the yatra was to create awareness about cleanliness and de-addiction. Municipal Commissioner S Jagadeesan, Deputy Commissioner (H&H), Dr I C Patel, zonal chief C J Gamit, besides other officials of the health department, were present on the occasion.
