It is indeed exemplary in this day and age that somebody has given the supreme sacrifice to expose corruption. I think his sacrifice is no lesser than a soldier making the ultimate sacrifice for the country or any freedom fighter who laid down his life fighting foreign rule. Too many of us just tolerate the system and all that we manage to do is to mutter privately. At this moment let us all salute this martyr and make sure his ultimate sacrifice will culminate in a huge struggle to root out the corrupt, nepotist and inefficient system which is denying the Indian citizen what he deserves.

Pursue his dreams
8226; If the piece And he wrote: If you die, go so quietly that no one gets to know, The Sunday Express, Dec 7, is correct, he is a great loss to the society and especially poor children/students. His ideas are great and should be taken seriously. He spent his free time for the humanity and to uplift society8217;s poor. Some one should take the great responsibilities of Dubey and continue his good works.

Save our guts
8226;
It8217;s simple to understand why Satyendra Dubey said let me go unsung. Our system has been undermined by the relentless pursuit of self promotion from the part of an uninspiring leadership. Hollow slogans followed by total inaction of our leaders. We have a set of rulers who camouflage their true intentions by giving us sermons on secularism, rural empowerment, diversity of India, equal opportunity for all and so on. They go on without offering any concrete solution. Raoul Kapoor What we can do n I8217;m a fresh undergrad from the University of Roorkee, rechristened IIT Roorkee. My batchmate e-mailed me the link to Letter to a Murdered Mate, The Indian Express, Dec 5, expressing his concern for the state of the affairs in India while he pursues his MS from Arizona. He floated the link on our Yahoo internet group and I believe the story ended at that. Not many would have cared to botch up the bandwidth by clicking on the link and left it at that. But I did care, and I clicked on the link. And deep within me it stirred up a storm, frustration, I felt something breaking in me, there was utter hopelessness. Had it not been for the link, this incident would have gone unnoticed by me because I did not come across it in any of the, I8217;m sad to admit, the newspapers I read. Maybe it was buried deep under tons and tons of 8216;8216;colored8217;8217; ads to blind us from the stark realities that the true india faces. Trying to portray that upstream Mumbai/Delhi is what is India8230;to cash in a larger subscriber pool who can afford to ogle at the bared skin of models and actresses while the naked India is put under a shroud and pushed under the glossy carpet.
I8217;d like to take this opportunity to applaud the efforts of your newspaper to give us the true picture, the real torments that the country is facing. I work in a Telecommunication company and even though they pay me enough to keep me occupied, I can8217;t but help but be aware of the challenges that we as a people face to make this country a better place to live in. I want to reach out and make a difference. I hope I8217;m able to accomplish something that will make Mr Dubey smile, that it was not all in vain.

Let there be an award
8226;
Government should institute a national award in the lines of Param Vir Chakra, to honour such gallant idealists like Dubey and should erect a statue in his memory. When most of the young professionals have chosen high quality life abroad, it is heartening to see people like Dubey staying back to fight for high ideals in such corruption-ridden hell holes like Government departments. His memory will always motivate many in the coming days. May his tribe increase.

What8217;s wrong in India
8226; The stories which The Indian Express is publishing about Dubey are very touching. But it seems the political leadership is not moved at all. What is our dear President is doing? Doesn8217;t he think he has a role to play? He should intervene and stop all this. In Maharashtra there is stamp scam, in Bihar fodder scam, in Jharkhand, in UP, in Tamil Nadu8230; everywhere there are scams8230; Dr Milind Datar A touchstone n I pray for peace for this noble soul. The details in the story about Dubey and his vision for the country were too touching Let this man8217;s untimely death create a nuclear reaction among the youths of India against corruption.

Now for the ripples
8226; Our PM didn8217;t honour your wish Dubeyji, let me call him that too since I too am from IIT Kanpur and we won8217;t either. Dubeyji, your death has created some ripples. Your wish is not being honoured and I hope it is not honoured. I hope these ripples become waves and wash away the dirt. I hope Dubeyji that India will give birth to atleast a handful of men and women who have the courage to dishonour your wish. I hope a handful have the kind of conscience that you had.
